Outreach Project
Our Outreach Project, designed for students and their parents, enlists local experts in the field of college advising to present workshops, free of charge, on subjects pertinent to the college application process. These programs include:
College 101 for College Bound Juniors and their Parents: A presentation which reviews 11 critical goals that college-bound students should complete before the senior year begins. This workshop is offered in Spanish and English.
Writing a Winning Personal Statement: A two-part workshop series for seniors focusing on writing an appropriate and stimulating personal statement for college applications.
Putting your Finances in Order: For seniors and their parents outlines methods for obtaining financial aid, grants and work study for advanced education.
Get on the Road to College: This 1 hr. 45 min. workshop offers high school juniors and their parents the benefit of a personal session with one of our professional college advisors. The session, tailored to the needs of the individual, covers such subjects as preparing for college entrance exams and appropriate college selection. At the conclusion of this one-on-one session, the student departs with a calendar of activities necessary to meet deadlines for college applications.
Academics, Athletics & You (AA & You): A presentation targeting male students which shares critical information about college academic and athletic requirements.
